Your data, your rules
Privacy Policy
We collect the minimum needed to make the app work, never sell your data, and don't do ads. Full breakdown below.
🕐 Last updated: July 2026
RaveFAM is built for the rave community, by the rave community — based in Florida, USA. We built this app to make your crew life better, not to harvest your data. This policy tells you exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and how to get it deleted. By using RaveFAM at myravefam.com, you agree to what's described here.
01 Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Account information: Your name, email address, and password when you create an account.
- Profile information: Your raver handle, music genre preferences, vibe tags (including any custom tags you add), home city, social handles (Instagram, Radiate), and phone number (optional).
- Crew & event data: Crew names, crew status (Secret, Recruiting, or Locked In), rave and festival events you track, attendance status, Dream Board wish lists, and invite codes you generate or use.
- Photos: Photos you choose to upload — including your profile photo, a crew totem photo, and shared "Our Memory" photos that link you with other crew members — stored to enable those features.
- "How We Met" stories: Personal text you write about how you met another crew member. Visible to both parties in the connection.
- Private notes & details about other ravers: Notes you write about individual crew members, plus private contact details you save for another raver — such as a phone number or a nickname. These are visible only to you (the person who saved them) — the raver they are about cannot see them.
- Reports: If you report a raver, crew, or piece of content, we collect the reason you give. If you're reported by someone else, the same kind of information is collected about you and reviewed by our moderators.
- Feedback you send us: If you use the "Help shape RaveFAM" form on our Contact page, we collect your name, your message, and your email address (optional, only if you'd like a reply).
- Satisfaction feedback: If you respond to an in-app "how likely are you to recommend RaveFAM" prompt, we collect your score and any optional comment, tied to your account.
- Former waitlist information: Before RaveFAM opened up sign-ups, some users joined an early-access waitlist and gave us their name, Instagram handle, and email address. We no longer collect new waitlist signups — sign-up is open to everyone now — but that historical data may still be retained; email bump@myravefam.com to have it deleted.
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and interactions within the app to help us improve the service.
- Device information: Browser type and operating system. RaveFAM's own application and database do not log your IP address; our hosting provider (Vercel) may retain standard web-request metadata, like IP address, at the infrastructure level for security and abuse prevention, independent of our app.
02 Unclaimed Member Profiles
RaveFAM allows crew leaders to add members to their crew before those members sign up. This means we may hold profile data — including a name, vibe tags, favourite artists, genres, and events — about a person who has not yet created a RaveFAM account or agreed to these terms.
Here is how this works in practice:
- Unclaimed profiles are visible only to the crew leader until the crew switches to Recruiting.
- You can claim your profile at any time by signing up and using the invite code or QR code shared by the leader.
- If you were added as an unclaimed member and never wish to sign up, you can request removal by emailing bump@myravefam.com — we will delete your profile within 30 days.
- If you already have a RaveFAM account when you claim an invite, we may merge the unclaimed profile's data (like genres, vibe tags, and festivals) into your existing profile — you'll get a chance to review and decline any individual piece of data before it merges. The original unclaimed record is then marked "merged" and kept for our own internal history rather than deleted outright.
- Crew leaders are responsible for only adding people they have a genuine relationship with and who would reasonably expect to be included.
If someone added you to a crew without your knowledge and you want your data removed, just email bump@myravefam.com. We'll sort it promptly.
03 How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your RaveFAM account
- Enable crew creation, invitations, and event tracking features
- Display your profile to crew members you are connected with
- Store and display "How We Met" stories and member photos between connected crew members
- Generate your personal stats and insights — such as the Stats tab, Vibe DNA, Rave Passport, and Rave Wrapped — from your own rave activity. Sharing a Rave Wrapped or similar card externally is always something you choose to do.
- Respond to feedback, questions, and support requests you send us
- Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets)
- Send occasional lifecycle emails based on your activity — like a welcome note, a nudge if you haven't joined a crew yet, or a recap of shared festivals with your crew — you can turn these off anytime via the unsubscribe link in any such email
- Improve and develop new features based on usage patterns
- Measure user satisfaction and overall product usage (e.g. via NPS surveys and anonymous traffic data)
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
04 Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a managed database platform that provides industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit (TLS/SSL). Our servers are located in the United States.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential. Please notify us immediately at bump@myravefam.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
05 Sharing Your Information
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- With crew members: Your profile name, handle, vibe tags, and other profile information are visible to crew members you are connected with. Visibility depends on crew status — in Secret mode, only the crew leader can see the crew. When a crew switches to Recruiting or Locked In, active members can see each other's profiles. Private notes a crew member writes about you, along with any private phone number or nickname they save for you, are never visible to you — only to the member who saved them.
You have direct control over some of this: from your profile's 🔒 Privacy & Permissions settings, you can toggle whether others can add you to a rave/RSVP, suggest vibe tags for you, see your home base, and see your Going/Been-To lists — plus whether your phone number is visible at all (off by default; the others are on by default). Crew and festival members can also see a simple activity feed (who added, changed, or removed what, and when) for crews and events you share — any private moderator note attached to that action is never shown to regular members, only to moderators.
- With moderators: RaveFAM has a small number of moderators — staff and trusted community members — who help keep the platform safe. To review reports and resolve disputes, moderators can see profile fields even when you've set them to private (like your base location, RSVPs, or phone number), and can view the details behind any report involving you.
- Service providers: We use the following third-party services to operate RaveFAM:
- Supabase — database hosting and authentication
- Vercel — website hosting and usage analytics (via Vercel Insights)
- Resend — delivers transactional and lifecycle emails on our behalf
- Formspree — delivers the feedback you submit through our "Help shape RaveFAM" form
- Ko-fi — processes optional donations or tips if you choose to support us. Any payment details are handled by Ko-fi under their own privacy policy; we never see your card information.
These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only to provide services to us.
- Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority, we may disclose your information.
- Business transfers: If RaveFAM is acquired or merges with another company, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you beforehand.
06 Cookies & Tracking
RaveFAM uses essential cookies and local storage to keep you logged in and maintain your session.
We use Vercel Insights for basic, privacy-friendly analytics (page views, feature usage) to understand how people use the app. Vercel Insights does not use tracking cookies and does not identify individual users or track them across other sites.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect app functionality.
We also run our own first-party analytics (not shared with Vercel): a persistent, anonymous identifier stored in local storage lets us count unique visits to our site, app, and Lineup Explorer pages, see which streaming service people tap to preview an artist, and see which sign-up/log-in link on our landing page people tap. This identifier isn't tied to your account, isn't shared with anyone outside RaveFAM, and isn't used across other companies' sites.
07 Your Rights & Choices
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information via your account profile settings.
- Privacy controls: From your profile's 🔒 Privacy & Permissions settings, control whether others can add you to events, suggest vibe tags for you, or see your home base and RSVP history — and turn on phone visibility if you'd like (it's off by default; the others are on by default).
- Deletion: Request permanent deletion of your profile and associated data by emailing us at bump@myravefam.com. Once we've verified the request, we permanently erase your profile, crew memberships, RSVPs, notes, and photos tied to it within 30 days — a real, irreversible deletion, not just a deactivation.
- Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Opt-out of emails: Unsubscribe from non-essential emails via the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
To exercise any of these rights, just email us at bump@myravefam.com. We actually respond.
08 Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service.
Day-to-day removals inside the app — deleting a rave, leaving a crew, removing a photo — are reversible for a period: we soft-delete first so a moderator can restore something taken down by mistake or abuse, rather than it being gone for good on the spot. That's different from a deletion request, which results in real, permanent erasure (see below), not just this recoverable soft-delete.
When you request deletion of your profile:
- Your profile, crew memberships, RSVPs, notes about you, and photos tied to it are permanently deleted within 30 days.
- If you were a crew leader, your crew and any unclaimed member profiles within it are deleted along with it.
- Waitlist data is retained until you request removal or we determine it is no longer needed.
We may retain anonymized, aggregated usage data, and a bare record that a deletion took place (for our own compliance record), after your profile is deleted.
09 Age Requirement
RaveFAM is a platform built around electronic music events, which are typically restricted to adults aged 18 and over. This app is intended solely for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
If we become aware that someone under 18 has created an account, we will delete it promptly. If you believe someone under 18 has signed up, please contact us at bump@myravefam.com.
10 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via email or a prominent notice within the app. Your continued use of RaveFAM after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
